Nebraska Supreme Court accepts Davis's court challenge against Sen. Krist
The Nebraska Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that they accepted Democratic candidate for Governor Tyler Davis’s Petition for Special Proceeding Regarding Elections in regard to the Secretary of State’s decision to accept Bob Krist’s application as a Democratic candidate for Governor.
Secretary of State John A. Gale and Attorney General Douglas Peterson received notice that the Supreme Court entered an order granting the application for leave to file an original action in the matter. A written response from both parties is due back to the Supreme Court on Monday, March 12, 2018.
“We are pleased that the Nebraska Supreme Court has accepted our case,” Davis said.
Sen. Bob Krist, candidate for Nebraska governor, made the following statement regarding a challenger trying to keep him off the May Primary Election Ballot:
“My lawyers are actively working on filings for the Nebraska Supreme Court today. The filing will probably be made early tomorrow. We expect a quick decision from the Court so that voters can have the opportunity to choose the best candidate to take on Pete Ricketts in November.”
