Race for Hastings City Council broadens ahead of filing deadline
HASTINGS, Neb. —
A Hastings native has announced he’ll run for Hastings City Council, focusing on tackling infrastructure in the 4th Ward.
Christopher Maunder made the announcement Monday.
He said he’s currently the president of the Conserve Hastings Action Team (CHAT), a division of Common Ground Nebraska and has volunteered with the Adams County Election Commission.
“Updated infrastructure makes maintenance cheaper for taxpayers and ensures that Hastings will remain a comfortable community for residents as well as for businesses,” said Maunder.
According to The Adams County Election Commission’s online records, one person, Charles Holmberg, has officially filed for city council in the 4th Ward.
Matthew Jones has filed in hopes of representing the 3rd Ward and incumbent Ginny Skutnik has filed to be on the ballot in the 1st Ward.
March 1, is the deadline to file for the Nebraska primary election.
