Adams County Highway Department updates trucks in fleet
HASTINGS, Neb. —
The Adams County Highway Department will soon be adding two new trucks to their fleet, replacing two older ones.
Adams County Highway Superintendent Dawn Miller says the two dump trucks were ordered at the most recent board meeting. The other trucks being replaced will be traded and auctioned off.
Miller says their trucks are used year-round for both hauling dirt and gravel for summer construction projects, and for snow removal and salting in the winter.
"You have to keep your fleet up," said Adams County Highway Superintendent Dawn Miller. "it's just like your own personal car if you don't keep it maintained and you don't get to work and those are our units we work with daily, weekly, year round, so we have to keep them up to date."
Miller says they expect the trucks to arrive sometime in May after being completely outfitted for use.
