UPDATE: Power restored to many in North Platte, Maxwell areas
UPDATE: Power has been restored to nearly 500 customers in the North Platte and Maxwell areas according to Dawson Public Power District. The outage involved equipment that delivers power from NPPD to Dawson PPD. The outage lasted over two hours.
They said customers across the territory have experienced blinks caused by the winds.
A few isolated outages remain in other areas.
Blizzard conditions are causing power outages throughout the Maxwell, North Platte and Lexington areas.
According to Dawson Public Power District, a transmission system issue has caused an outage for about 500 residential customers in the Maxwell - North Platte area in Lincoln County.
They said there are about 80 customers out of power in the Darr, Elwood and Lexington areas at this time.
Dawson Public Power said customers may experience blinks caused by strong winds whipping ice covered lines and because of whiteout conditions restoration efforts will be slow.
