Man rescued from sinking boat

One man was stuck in the middle of a lake for nearly 45 minutes Thursday night.

According to the Grand Island Fire Department, it happened around 9:15 p.m.

They said three people were on the water at Mormon Island State Recreation Area, south of G.I., when their boat capsized.

Two of them were able to swim to shore, while one stayed near the boat.

The fire department said they arrived around 9:45 p.m. with a rescue boat to grab the man.

They said he had a low temperature and was brought to a local hospital. His condition was not released.
