Multiple crashes reported as blizzard crosses Nebraska
OGALLALA, Neb. —
Multiple crashes are being reported in western and central Nebraska as a blizzard makes its way across the state.
Ogallala Fire and Rescue responded to a crash on Interstate 80 involving multiple vehicles at 4:27 p.m. Friday, according to a local storm report. The report said numerous people were stranded, and numerous injuries were reported.
Another crash was reported on I-80 near Maxwell at mile marker 185. A semi was blocking traffic in that area around 5:12 p.m.
Keystone Lemoyne Fire and Rescue reported that around 300 vehicles were stopped on I-80 due to the accidents. The department said the Ogallala Fire Department was being called to help stranded motorists on Friday afternoon.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation reported that high winds have blown over a semi on Highway 92 at around 8:26 p.m. Friday.
