Oxford man sentenced to prison after texting undercover officer
OXFORD, Neb. —
A man from oxford will be spending six to eight years behind bars after prosecutors say he texted an undercover police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl.
A judge sentenced Richard Walls Tuesday after he pleaded no contest to attempted pandering.
Prosecutors dropped two enticement charges.
According to court records, Walls started texting someone he thought was underage named Amy in 2016.
Records say he offered to take the girl to Kansas while he was working there to have sex with her.
"Amy" turned out to be an undercover officer.
Walls will also have to register as a sex offender.
