A local principal, spent part of Thursday on the school's roof! The Buffalo Hills Elementary School principal was celebrating the reading success of her students.

Each month kids are encouraged to log how much time they spend reading outside of school.

The principal promised for each calendar returned, she'd spend one minute on the roof. This month 232 calendars were returned!

Teachers say underneath all the fun, this is a great way to remind kids to read when they're at home too.

"A lot of our kids are involved in extracurricular activities and different things going on at home. Highlighting that reading is important and always worthy of making time for, I think it's just a good reminder for our students and families just to read," said 4th grad teacher, Chance Waggoner.

Waggoner says the principal spent about 3 and half hours out in the cold, but she enjoyed supporting the students!
