United Express flight makes emergency landing in Grand Island

A flight from Omaha made an unscheduled landing in Grand Island this morning.

Airport officials tell NTV News the flight was operated by SkyWest Airlines.

According to a press release, SkyWest flight 5215 operating as United Express was on route from Omaha to San Francisco was diverted to Grand Island after receiving a mechanical indication. The flight carrying 59 passengers landed safely at 7:40 a.m. and were deplaned at the gate.

Mechanics are currently inspecting the plane and are working to help passengers resume their flight.
