Deputies: Reports of man 'holding human head' at Oregon store
ESTACADA, Ore. (KATU) – A man is in custody after police received reports that he walked into an Estacada store covered in blood, holding a knife and "what looked like a human head," homicide investigators from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
Law enforcement was called out about 2:15 p.m. on reports of a death at the Harvest Market Thriftway store on North Broadway. A short time later, someone called to say that a man had stabbed an employee and that others were holding the man down.
At about 2:30 p.m., the sheriff's office received reports that a woman was found dead at a home on Elwood Road in Colton.
Deputies said the death under investigation at the store "actually happened" at the Colton home. They did not specify whether the initial reports of the suspect holding a severed head were, in fact, confirmed.
The injured employee was flown to the hospital in an air ambulance. No word on his or her current condition.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for an evaluation.
Investigators said they will release the names of those involved as the case develops.
