Scott Frost has always wanted to be part of the Central Florida Knights Peach Bowl experience.

"There's been a lot of circumstances swirling around this season and those have been tough to navigate, but the guys have done an unbelievable job with that," Frost said at a press conference for the Peach Bowl, Tuesday in Orlando.

Frost was hired away from UCF by his alma mater, Nebraska, on Dec. 3. The two-year head coach needed certain things to fall his way to lead the Knights into Atlanta, and now they have. Frost, and his entire staff, are staying in Orlando and coaching the Knights against Auburn.

"I'm grateful to have this opportunity," said Frost. "UCF has been unbelievable to me and to be (representing UCF) one more time is special to me. This is a great place and a great university and it's unusual circumstances and our staff is completely committed and we do everything we can for this football team."

UCF has a chance to finish as the only unbeaten team in the FBS this season. Going in at 12-0, the Knights are currently a 9.5-point underdog against 10-3 Auburn.

Kickoff for the New Year's Day game is set for 11:30 a.m. CT and can be viewed on ESPN.
