Riley visits Grand Island, reflects on last trip to the city

The Huskers Tour of 2017 passes through Grand Island at the Balz Reception Hall, May 9, 2017 (NTV News)

Nebraska head coach Mike Riley, athletic director Shawn Eichorst, and other members of the program making stops in Alliance, McCook, and finally Grand Island today as part of their state–wide tour.

"The minute we flew into and started driving in and I started to see some of those same places I saw when I was over here for the funeral, I thought about it actually when I first landed, and I thought about it yesterday when I knew we were coming in," said Riley.

Tuesday marks Riley's first return to GI since the funeral of Sam Foltz, allowing Riley another chance to reflect on the former Husker punter and all–around great guy.

"There rarely is a day goes by that I don't think about Sam Foltz. I'm reminded every day," said Riley. "The first thing I walk into my office (sic) is my picture of Sam that's up, so a very, very special young man. Just glad now at this time that I got to know him."
