Creighton plays Gonzaga, Nebraska in ten day span
Creighton releasing their 2017–18 non–conference schedule in a series of tweets with perhaps one of the more exciting mid–major games of the season when the Bluejays take on the 2017 national runner–ups from Gonzaga.
The first meeting falls on December 1st in Spokane. Gonzaga, who boasts the nation's best record since 2010–11, also mark Creighton's first game against a team coming off a national runner–up finish since a win over Indiana State in 1980.
Among Creighton's non–conference schedule, of course, is a match–up against their little brothers southwest on I–80, the University of Nebraska.
However, the Jays don't have to leave home because this year's meeting returns to the CenturyLink Center. 2017 is the 41st straight season the programs square off, this year falls on Dec. 9. Creighton has won six straight by double–digits and 10 consecutive regular–season home games over the Huskers.
Across the board, head coach Greg McDermott says this is one of the most difficult schedules the Jays have faced in his tenure.
