Enthusiasm wins in first Loper practice

KEARNEY - The new FieldTurf is in at Foster Field, looking glamorous, and football is back in Central Nebraska.

Preseason practice No. 1 is in the rearview mirror for UNK.

Dabbling in a little bit of everything; individual drills, 7–on–7, and full offensive sets as the Lopers continue learning a new philosophy on both sides of the ball with a high level of energy.

"I like the enthusiasm, man, every body is excited," exclaimed head coach Josh Lynn. "It's a new system at UNK. We've had a good couple of days of meetings and now we're on the field and moving around."

Lynn has only been at UNK since January, so the implementation has been a lot of the Lopers to digest in a short amount of time, even though he seems to believe they've got a great grasp of what's going on.

"Effort to effort is outstanding. Next thing is, we're a lot further along than in the spring, at the end of spring, so that's a good thing."

Practice continues every day this week, ending with a scrimmage on Saturday morning.
