Home runs power Broncos into Saturday

Hastings College got a two-run home run from Cara Williams, her second of the day and first of the game, to beat Concordia in walk-off fashion, 4-3, Friday in the GPAC softball tournament.

Williams was able to book-end the Bronco day with home runs, as she led off the bottom of the first inning against College of Saint Mary with a home run as well.

Lexie Linderman had a great game in the opener, hitting two home runs for the Broncos against the Flames, who were blanked 6-0 off four Bronco dingers.

Josie Bumgardner also had a home run in the first game, while pitching a three hit shutout with nine strikeouts.

Hastings College moves into the championship round in the Hastings half of the bracket, and they have two chances to get one victory. The Broncos play their first game at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings.
