Its NBA draft week and no one rose up the boards quicker than Creighton redshirt–freshman Justin Patton.

A virtual unknown to the NBA before the 2016-17 season began, Patton is now a very likely first round pick and there are many projections placing him in the lottery.

Patton has spent time working out in Denver, Portland, Charlotte, Atlanta, Detroit, and has potential trips to Miami and Milwaukee before Thursday's selection process commences.

A whirlwind couple of months only getting crazier over the upcoming days, so for Patton, it's nice to get a reprieve back in his home town of Omaha.

"Just seeing my family and stuff like that, and it's always good to come back to Creighton," said Patton. "It's like a jolt of energy, I guess, and I get to reboot, rekindle all of my emotions.

"I get to look back on the past with my family and going to the draft is life-changing, so it's always good to regroup, reflect, and come back."

Patton was one of the nation's most efficient shooters, connecting on 67.6% of his attempts, good for second best in DI last season.

His 12.9 points per game were also second best for the Bluejays. Patton led the Jays with 1.4 blocked shots per game and 6.2 rebounds.

The NBA Draft starts on Thursday, 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
