A Kearney State basketball and overall Nebraska legend, Tom Kropp, is the 2017 Cornhusker State Games honorary parade marshal.

The four-time hall of famer and three-time professional sports draftee out of Aurora, Neb. leads thousands of CSG athletes through the opening ceremonies in Lincoln on Friday, July 21 at 8 p.m. CT.

Kropp spent a majority of his post-playing days career as the head coach of UNK men's basketball before sharing those duties with Kevin Lofton and ultimately resigning his post after the 2015 season. He spent 25 years on the Loper bench.

His hall of fame list of accomplishments include the University of Nebraska-Kearney, NAIA, Nebraska Football and Nebraska High School Sports.

After a glorious career playing at Kearney State in football and basketball, he was drafted by the NBA's Washington Bullets, Denver Nuggets from the ABA, and Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. Kropp chose to stick with basketball, spending a year in Washington, a second in Chicago, before taking his game over-seas.
