LeFlore returns to UNK program as running back

Remember the name Devontay LeFlore?

Die hard Loper football fans certainly would be familiar with the former UNK linebacker.

He amassed 119 tackles in two seasons as a linebacker, then spent the 2016 season away from the program. He's back, but is taking on a new persona this year.

LeFlore is in the mix at running back and catching the eye of first year head coach Josh Lynn.

"He's doing a great job for us at running back," Lynn says. "The decision was made to move him from linebacker to running back and I think it's a lot more comfortable for him in the running back spot."

Lynn says LeFlore is in a good competition with Thomas Russell in the running back depth chart. He would like to have two, sometimes even three running backs in the backfield, depending on situations.

The more running backs, the merrier, says Lynn.

He hopes to have 4 or 5 backs capable of playing come September.
