Lopers progressing nicely through first spring under Lynn
UNK's spring game is nine days out, and when Loper fans make their way to Foster Field on April 22, they can expect to see a team that plays fast and with confidence, because the Lopers are beginning to get more comfortable with their new playbooks.
"They've learned their assignments, now they're playing fast, they're playing confident," said first-year head coach Josh Lynn.
The offense is going with a basic triple option look, piggy backing off of Lynn's success at Eastern New Mexico where the Greyhounds dashed for nearly 350 yards rushing in 2016.
But it's not all running for the Lopers, who are not afraid to air it out from time to time.
UNK's coaching staff is pleased with how quickly the players have absorbed their roles.
"The continuation of progression can move along towards those things," Lynn says.
The Loper spring game set for 30 minutes before noon, next Saturday at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium.
