Lopers Win First Home Opener in Six Years

UNK Football started off the 2017 season with a big win over Missouri Western State. (14-3).

This marks the Lopers first home opener win since 2011.

The Lopers defense was the first to score off an interception from Griffons QB Skyler Windmiller to DB Malik Webb. Web runs it back untouched scoring UNK's first touchdown of the season.

On the offensive side Steve Worthing went 13-23 totaling 150 yards on the night.

Plus one touchdown pass to Blake Holtmeier in the second quarter putting the Lopers up 14-0 heading into the half.

The defense stayed strong all game keeping the Griffons out of the endzone.

Tye Spies racked up two and a half sacks, The Lopers totaled four on the night.

UNK is on the road next week traveling to Emporia State Sep. 7th kicking off at 7:00pm.
