Throttling provided to Midland by Bronco women
HASTINGS, Neb. —
Sophomore Shandra Farmer scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting to lead Hastings College past Midland, 72-54, Wednesday at Lynn Farrell Arena.
The Broncos used a 14-4 second quarter scoring advantage to take a 13 point lead going to the half and outscored Midland by another 12 in the third to lead by as many as 28.
Farmer was good on 4-of-7 attempts from downtown, even though the Broncos struggled as a team, hitting on 5-of-13 attempts from beyond the arc. They were a measly 1-for-8 in the first half.
Rachel Jelden had 10 rebounds for the Broncos, who out-rebounded Midland 47-39 and 34-27 on the defensive glass.
Jordan Johnson scored 10 points (4-for-10) and the Broncos also got six from Taylor Menke (33% FG), who added nine boards as well.
Hastings College (14-2 Overall, 6-2 GPAC) is home to Dordt on Saturday, 2 p.m.
