UNK slugs their way out of a big hole in series opener
Trailing Northeastern State 9-0 after 1.5 innings, UNK pounded eight runs on the board with four home runs to basically erase the deficit and eventually win, 22-16, Friday night at Memorial Field.
In the pivotal second inning, Easton Edmond (2 of 4, 4 runs, 2 HR) led off with a home run. Dallas Schramm (3 of 4, 6 RBI) hit a grand slam and Billy Hayes (1 of 4, 2 runs) made it back-to-back bombs. The inning also saw Edmond hit his second in the frame.
The Lopers scored seven in the seventh, capping off their offensive production with a season high of 22 runs.
UNK and the RiverHawks play again Saturday, 3:00 p.m. CT at Memorial Field in Kearney.
