Dave Griek's 4th Annual LOSS Scramble
KEARNEY - We spoke in length about suicide earlier this week in the Your Voice, Your Future roundtable.
Now there's a chance to help an organization devoted to helping families after losing a loved one to death by suicide.
Registrations are underway for the 4th Annual LOSS Scramble, a cause near and dear to me as someone who lost his father to suicide nearly 25 years ago and co–founded the Central Nebraska LOSS Team.
We are a group of survivors and trained clinicians all working on a volunteer basis who visit with families following the loss of a loved one to suicide.
This double elimination, 4-on-4 volleyball tournament, presented by Younes Hospitality, the Central Nebraska LOSS Team, and NTV is open to anyone who wants to play. The tournament itself is at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Big Apple Fun Center. There's a registration deadline of Aug. 21 and entry is once again $20 per person.
As of now, we are providing prizes and food from Perkins, Skeeter Barnes, Old Chicago, NK Nails, Bath and Body Works, Hallmark, Hastings College, UNK Athletics, the Tri–City Storm, and NTV's Kent Boughton.
