Nebraska opens fall camp
In 34 days, Nebraska will kick off the 2017 season in Lincoln against Arkansas State. Today we're talkin bout practice. The Huskers opened up Fall Camp this morning and begin the process of laying the foundation for a successful year.
Big Red taking the field at 9 am this morning at the Hawks Championship Center. Nebraska practiced for two hours in shells. Most of the session was spent on installation work on both sides of the ball. Coach Riley pleased with the passion his players showed during the first practice of camp.
" It's a little bit hard sometimes because with the enthusiasm always with the first day is at a high, high level and you've got to really pull them back," said head coach Mike Riley. "We don't have shoulder pads on. You don't want the big collisions. You've got to practice appropriately. When you're in the trenches you have to be careful down the field, but I still think it's good to break in like this and get a little bit of a foundation before we put more gear on."
Nebraska will hold their 2nd practice of camp tomorrow morning.
