Nebraska's Chris Jones sidelined 4-6 months following knee surgery

Nebraska Coach Mike Riley confirming today that defensive back Chris Jones will miss the next 4–6 months after undergoing a procedure to repair the meniscus in his left knee. Meaning, the rising senior could be at risk for missing all but the final two regular season games for Big Red.

Jones was named to the Thorpe Award Watch list just yesterday. The Jacksonville, Florida native is coming off one of his finest seasons with the Blackshirts. Jones registering 37 tackles and 3 interceptions in 2016 as well as earning an All–Big Ten honorable mention. He was slated to attend Big Ten Media Days in Chicago the 24th and 25th, but he will be replaced by junior safety Aaron Williams.
