Eleven Bearcats sign NLI to college of choice

Kearney High rattling off 21 collegiate signings this school year.

Ten during the February signing period, and 11 more this spring.

The Bearcats filling up the new gym for Wednesday's letter of intent scribble off.

Madeline Murray is playing golf at the University of Colorado–Colorado Springs.

Levi Merklin taking his cheering talents to Fremont and Midland University.

The headliner of today's event, Rita Schnacker, signing for track and field at Wichita State.

Tanner Ellingson committing to the oval for the next four to five years at Nebraska Wesleyan.

Cole Willis and Matt Thurston doing much of the same, starting off their collegiate careers with UNK track and field. Tori Lindner is a teammate of theirs now, and will be next year as well, signing the dotted line with the Lopers.

UNK tennis also getting a former Bearcat in the shape of Faith Kowalski.

And UNK softball catching several Bearcats.

Lauren Struebing moving across town to the college campus. Julia Bauer also joining the team coached by Holly Carnes, and Maureena Voornhagen, better known as Mo, becomes the third future Loper soft-baller.

As they say, diamonds are a girls' best friend.
