Minden's Chramosta retires from girls program

Rick Chramosta, winner of 404 games during his 26-year coaching career, is stepping away from the Minden girls basketball program.

Chramosta led Deshler to the 1994 C2 girls state championship and the Minden girls to a pair of C1 runner-ups (2012, 2014). While at Minden, the Whippets made it to state every year but one (2010) from 2008-15. The Deshler girls championship run was the Dragons first ever appearance at the state tournament.

Chramosta says he wants to spend more time with his family which is spread across the state. He does have plans to continue teaching at Minden and will also keep his assistant coaching role with the track team.
