Peterson named 60th Shrine Bowl South head coach

KEARNEY - Nearly eleven months from the 60th Annual Nebraska Shrine bowl and the coaches are already chosen for the North and South teams.

Aurora’s Kyle Peterson named the head coach of the South for his first run as the leader of a Shrine side. Peterson was an assistant coach for the South in 2011.

Aurora lost to eventual state champ Elkhorn South in the Class B quarters last year. Peterson's assistant, Tim Elge, is also helping on this year’s Shrine Bowl staff.

Joining the pair of Huskies is Kearney Catholic’s Rashawn Harvey. The Stars’ first year head coach guiding KCHS to a 10-2 record and a C1 semifinal appearance in 2016.

The 60th annual Shrine Bowl of Nebraska game will be played at the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Ron and Carol Cope Stadium Foster Field in Kearney, Neb. on Sat., June 2, 2018. All proceeds from the game benefit Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
