LINCOLN, Neb. — Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family went on a 14-2 run to start the second half, running away with a 52-39 win over North Platte St. Patrick's.
"We've had a core of guys who have really been big contributors over two or three years for us," said NPSP head coach Bill O'Malley. "It really is difficult to see their hopes of a championship come to an end, but I'm really so happy that they were able to accomplish all that they have."
Both teams went shot-for-shot in the first half as the contest was tied at 18 before the break.
The Bulldogs then made four-straight triples coming out of the locker room, and the Irish couldn't catch up.
NPSP will finish its season with a consolation game against Burwell at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
HLHF (22-5) returns to the finals for the second time in three years and will play Howells-Dodge (20-8) at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
