LOS ANGELES (AP) — Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich says the show had multiple conversations with Ariana Grande about possibly performing Sunday but the singer "felt it was too late for her to pull something together."
Ehrlich told The Associated Press on Thursday that Grande isn't performing at the Grammys, where is nominated for two awards. He said the Recording Academy wanted her to perform after having "conversations over the past month or so."
He said by the time it seemed like a performance might work out, Grande said it was too late for her to adequately prepare.
Variety reported this week that the singer had a disagreement with Grammy producers on which songs she would perform, so she pulled out.
Grande has been featured on billboards promoting Sunday's show.
