Grand Island man convicted for false imprisonment, possession of controlled substance

Ricardo Erives (Grand Island Police)

A Grand Island man has been convicted after police said he was found in a stranger's apartment, with four children, following a chase with law enforcement.

Ricardo Erives, 18, pleaded no contest to charges of false imprisonment and possession of a controlled substance on Wednesday.

Police said he and another man kept those kids from opening the door back in May.

When police were let inside, authorities said they found drugs on Ervies.

His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 26.
