Libertarian candidate removed from Nebraska ballot
U.S. Senate candidate Mark Elworth Jr. has been removed from the Nebraska ballot.
The Nebraska Secretary of State's Office said Elworth changed his party affiliation after filing for office, which is against state law.
Elworth was one of two libertarian candidates in the primary. Jim Schultz, of Lincoln, will now advance to the general election.
Democrats Jane Raybould, Frank Svoboda, Larry Marvin and Chris Janicek are also running.
Senator Deb Fischer, Jack Heidel, Dennis Frank Macek, Jeffrey Lynn Stein and Todd F. Watson are the republicans in the race.
