Minden 'lights up' for Christmas
The lights are now shining in Minden with the magic of Christmas.
With the wave of a wand, 2018 Miss Christmas City Queen Jasmin Wagner 'turned on' the roughly 12.000 lights that kicked off the season.
It celebrates Minden's tradition of being known as the Christmas City, that attracts many.
"Just to see what the people go through to put it up and the beauty of it, just Christmas, that's what it is," said JoyLyn Ross of Culbertson.
It's a community-wide effort.
"I think one of the most special things about being the Christmas City and about being in the Christmas City is that it's such a source of pride for the community and it's such a family oriented title," said Marcy Brandt of the Minden Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. "We as a community, short, tall, big small, old, young, we all are really proud of this community and what we do in the Christmas season."
A parade followed the lighting. The lights will be lit until January 1st.
