Names released of those involved in fatal crash near Franklin
FRANKLIN, Neb. —
A Minden woman is dead after a crash Tuesday in Franklin County, according to the Franklin County Attorney.
In a statement Thursday, he said Delna Wempen, 82, was killed at the scene on Highway 10. An autopsy performed Wednesday pointed to blunt force trauma as the cause of death, said Henry Schenker.
Schenker said an accident reconstruction was performed by the Nebraska State Patrol, but the crash remains under investigation.
He said a Dodge ram pickup driven by Jacob Wempen, 20, of Minden, as well as a Dodge Charger driven by 48-year-old Charles Fisher, of Esbon, were involved in the crash about a half-mile north of the intersection of Highways 10 and 4.
Wempen was a passenger in the Ram.
The county attorney said Fisher remains in the hospital with serious injuries. Wempen was treated for injuries and released.
