Yoga Club at McCook High receives praise from a Hindu leader

One Hindu leader is applauding McCook High School for starting a yoga club.

Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, applauded McCook High School for giving students an opportunity to receive the benefits yoga has to offer.

Zed also called on Gov. Pete Ricketts, State Board of Education President Rachel Wise and Department of Education Commissioner Matthew L. Blomstedt to make the practice available to more students throughout the state.

According to reports, the yoga club was started by a school counselor, Janae Solomon.
