STRATTON, Neb. — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 7 pm as Trenton and Stratton grapple with severe flooding, according to the National Weather Service. The rising waters have prompted rescue operations and assistance from local authorities.
Kyle Sutton from the Village Board in Stratton reported that five people from four different homes were successfully rescued using three boats. The efforts were aided by volunteers from the fire department.
Our NTV reporter in Stratton said a trailer home there is filling with water, reaching chest level for at least one resident.
He said crews are working on potentially damaged railroad tracks.
