Nebraska linebacker Ben Stille was named the Big Ten Freshman of the week. The redshirt freshman from Ashland, Nebraska tallied 4 tackles, 3 of those for loss, and his first career sack in the Huskers 28–6 victory over Illinois. It's the second straight week that Stille has made an impact for the Blackshirts. He had three tackles against Rutgers. Stille making the most of his limited time on the field.

"With the injuries we’ve had, he slides in, takes advantage of it and physically, has done a very good job," Head Coach Mike Riley said. "He’s very conscientious. He has always been an extremely hard worker, and that’s what’s happened. It’s pretty simple.”
