Nebraska's Annika Albrecht looks to the bench during match against Penn State, Sept. 22, 2017 (KHGI)

Annika Albrecht is one of the brightest spots within the Nebraska athletics department, and validated it once again by earning the AVCA Division I Player of the Week.

Albrecht helping the Huskers to a pair of sweeps, while hitting a career high 19 kills at a clip of .400 to hand the then ranked No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions its first home sweep since 2003. She hit .379 for the week and averaged 5.16 kills per set.

This marks the 15th time a lady in red receives AVCA Player of the Week recognition and Albrecht becomes the 12th individual.
