Huskers Football Bid Farewell To 21 Seniors

Newby chases down a Northwestern defender at Memorial Stadium.

Though 2017 may be a season many Husker fans will try to forget, it can't be forgotten by the 21 seniors who are about to take the field at Memorial Stadium for the last time wearing the red and white.

Despite the disappointing record the Huskers part–ways with some big names on the roster.

Including Linebacker Marcus Newby, who totaled 54 solo tackles on his collegiate career along with four sacks and seven passes deflected.

Let's not forget Defensive back Joshua Kalu out of Houston. Over 200 total tackles with the Huskers and 27 passes deflected. The man also has seven interceptions under his belt and two forced fumbles.

The blackshirts will also have to get by without Linebacker Chris Weber. The Omaha native has had an explosive senior year with 88 total tackles and five passes deflected.

On the offensive side Tanner Lee's going to have one less weapon, losing TE Tyler Hoppes. In only two seasons, Hoppes racked up 340 yards receiving with three TD's along with the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team Award.

What could be Riley's last game in Memorial stadium as well has many people anxious on what the future holds for all of Nebraska football. Make sure to tune into NTV News for updates after highlights after the game.
