Wisconsin walks away with a 38-17 win against Huskers
The Huskers dropped games to Oregon and Northern Illinois, but going into Saturday night's tussle with the Wisconsin Badgers, Nebraska was undefeated where it counts: 2 and 0 in the Big Ten.
The Big Red hoped to extend that to 3 and 0 Saturday against the No. 9-ranked Badgers, but the scoring began with a sight seen way too many times by Husker fans - a Tanner Lee pick-6. Wisconsin took advantage of a bounce off Devine Ozigbo and got on the board.
Wisconsin tacked on a a field goal to extend their lead 10-0 in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, it was Nebraska's turn. Tanner Lee showed off his arm and connected with Stanley Morgan, and Morgan did the rest. The Huskers cut the lead to 10-7, and got the faithful jubilant.
That excitement wouldn't last because of Wisconsin's Jonathon Taylor, who found a hole in the Blackshirt defense and headed for the end zone, making it 17-7 Wisconsin. There were 249 yards on the night for Taylor on 25 touches.
Ozigbo did have a solid night for Nebraska with 112 yards on 23 carries, but no touchdowns for him.
In the third quarter, Nebraska found the recipe for a pick-6 of their own. Aaron Williams had a huge play -14 yards to the house to tie things up at 17.
The Badgers came right back with the touchdown pass to Quintez Cephus, making it 24-17 Wisconsin.
The Badgers tacked on two more scores to take home the 38-17 victory.
