The Hastings College Men's tennis team has been collecting trophies like its their business the last several years, swinging through their 7th consecutive regular season GPAC title on Saturday.

The foundation for the program's success set up more than 8 years ago and it's still paying dividends for the Broncos.

"This goes back to my first year coaching," said nine year head coach Comron Yazdgerdi. "Talking to a bunch of freshmen and a sophomore just begging them that if we have success 10 years from now, it's the foundation that they laid."

The road to seven has not always been pretty, or easy, for Hastings College. Beginning the year at 2–6 before gaining traction and winning 7 of their last 9 matches to finish up 9–8 and a perfect 5–0 in GPAC play.

"It's cheesy but it's hard work. It's a team. It's loving one another. Working together and pushing each other," says Yazdgerdi.

The Broncos enter the GPAC tournament as the no. 1 seed. They play the winner of Concordia and Midland on Friday up in Fremont.
