All good things must come to an end. Hastings College football began 2017 red hot winning 4 of their first 5 games. Since then the Broncos have dropped two in a row. A double overtime loss to Dordt and a 40–point defeat to number 4 Morningside. HC will play two of their last 3 games are at home. It won't be easy sledding for the Broncos since both of their opponents Doane and Northwestern are a combined 6–0 against Hastings the last 3 years. HC is hoping that a return to the basics this week will snap their 2 game losing skid.

"We've got to focus on ourselves," head coach Tony Harper told NTV. " We've been saying that the whole year as coaches and the players are starting to buy in to that. What we talked about is we have to get better every single day. We've got to go 1-0 every single day. Did you improve or did you not? From a schematic standpoint, we have to be able to throw the football to the open receiver. We have to still get third downs and defensively we have to play a lot better in our gaps. We're just not tackling very well right now. So that's going to be a major emphasis this week.

The Broncos welcome number 24 Doane University to Lloyd Wilson Field on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 pm.
