Southwest wins opener at Miss Basketball

The Southwest Sidewinders won their opener, 50-27, over NLA Orange in the pool play opener for both teams.

Seven of nine 'Winders scored as they presented a balanced attack, led by Jaedy Commins who had 13 points on six field goals.

Kaleigh Kummer added 11 points behind four buckets and the team's only made three.

Southwest is tied with Colorado Prospects 17 for first in Pool E and play NW Illusion at 9:50 p.m. Thursday on the south court at the Health and Sports Center.
