Coaches rely heavily on their seniors, not just for their performance but also because of their leadership. The Kearney high girls track team has another talented senior class this season. One who helped lead the Bearcats to the 2016 Class A title and a runner up finish in 2017. Head Coach Pat McFadden has seen a lot of graduating classes pass through and says this current crop has stood out from day 1.

This year's group is extra special. We have quite a few of them who are major contributors and have been ever since they were freshman. They've been a big part of the success of this program for the last 4 years. We really think of them not just as great examples in terms of how they practice and how they've gotten to where they are right now, they're also great cheerleaders for one another. They help the younger kids certainly appreciate where they're at.
