UNK volleyball has been difficult to beat this year. The Lopers finished the regular season winning 18 of their last 19 matches. UNK completed their preparations for the NCAA tournament this afternoon. The Squierettes will try and advance out of the first round for the first time since 2012.

They'll face a familiar foe in their opening round game. The Lopers will play Missouri Western for a 4th time this season. Mo–West is one of just 3 teams to defeat UNK. The Lope Show won the most recent meeting in the MIAA championship game 3–1. Even though UNK is quite familiar with the Griffons, don't expect anything to change on the game prep side of things.

"You kind of go over the other matches and see if you learn something more from them," said head coach Rick Squiers. "But it's certainly better than starting from scratch and really not having any idea about what you're going to see. I think from that standpoint it's easier. It doesn't mean the match is going to be easier because they are just as familiar with us. So it may be tough for both sides to get a kill because you've kind of seen what's coming."

Lopers and Griffons meet on Thursday at 3:30. If UNK wins, they could meet Central Oklahoma, another MIAA foe in the 2nd round.
