Weeknight News Anchor Colleen Williams was born in Breda, Iowa. She's a graduate of Gallatin (MO) High School and Missouri Western State College, where she earned her degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Video Production.
Colleen started in the news business as a production assistant in St. Joseph, Missouri. She worked her way up to general assignment reporting and photographer for high school sports.
Her next job was bureau chief in Ottumwa, Iowa and anchoring the weekend news at KTVO in Kirksville, Missouri. In 1997 Colleen came to NTV to be the 6PM and 10PM co-anchor.
After 2 years behind the anchor desk, Colleen moved to New York City where she did various on-air work. Most notably, she was a freelance reporter and producer for the CBS Network's press and publicity department.
After four years in New York City, Colleen and her husband, Chris, came back to the area to be close to their families and to start a family of their own. Chris is the former Music Coordinator for "The Late Show with David Letterman" and is currently working for Hastings College. In 2005 Colleen & Chris welcomed their first child Campbell, and in 2010 Caleb.
Colleen received recognition for her series "The Road Less Traveled" where she visited 200+ towns in the NTV viewing area. In 2005 she was given "Nebraska's highest honor" as the governor bestowed her the rank of Nebraska Admiral. In addition to her anchor duties, Colleen has also served on the panel for two Senatorial Debates broadcast by NET and simulcast for CSPAN.
